Go crab in the Christmas Island

Get up close and personal one of the most unique creatures on earth- crabs, in the Christmas Island situated 300 miles south of Jakarta along the Indian Ocean. Here, don't expect to see crowding human as it numbers a mere 1500 locals and 1000 tourists. But you can catch up with some 120 million crabs in some 160 species during the rainy season (November/December) when they charge to the sea for mating. The march of this creeping army consisted of the red crabs over takes the scene. Once you witness it, you can further head for the wildlife in the island which is known as the Galápagos of the Indian Ocean. There rare species that you might catch a glance are the fruit bats, blind snakes and the deadly robber crab.
