A North Carolina man was killed early Sunday when his Chevy Blazer went off the road and flipped over in the city's Pungo section. Joseph Edwin Edge, 27, of the 200 block of South End Road, Knotts Island, N.C., died in the accident, a spokesman for the Virginia Beach Police Department said. He was driving south in the 1100 block of Princess Anne Road when his SUV went off the right side of the road and overturned, the spokesman said.

Police were called at 2:27 a.m. Edge was not wearing a seat belt, the spokesman said, and was ejected from the vehicle. He died at a hospital, the spokesman said.
